What you will be doing: Acting as a SME, this role will support a total of 8 Retirement Living Properties across British Columbia.

  • Facilitates professional and superior customer service by partnering with a client group tosupport all HR matters, including, but not limited to recruitment; retention; labour and teammember relation issues; interpretation of human resources policy and procedure, collectiveagreements, employment legislation; grievance management; performance management;attendance management; compensation packages; W.S.I.B. management; Health and Safetypractices; benefit, retirement and pension plans;
  • Supports a client group in performance management and compensation related effortsincluding compensation planning, and guidance on performance feedback;
  • Partners with business leaders to provide day to day performance management guidanceconsistent with the organization policies, including coaching, counseling, managing poorperformance, providing difficult performance management feedback and champion careerdevelopment needs;
  • Provide strategic support for the business by partnering in the development of a talentmanagement strategy to support team member engagement around succession, planning,development and coaching
  • Drive communication to help facilitate change management process through the business,assisting leaders and team members in understanding and supporting the organizationalchanges
  • Travel to Retirement Sites across British Columbia is required (Mileage & Travel Reimbursement Applies)

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Minimum 7 years of human resources consulting experience; CHRP designation is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to consult, influence and partner with senior leaders in developingand/or executing people strategies to drive business performance;
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills at all levels of the organization;
  • Demonstrated success resolving complex HR issues;
  • Has working knowledge of Labour and Canadian employment law, current HR trends and theability to use such knowledge proactively in consulting with clients;
  • Ability to consult on application of policy and process as well as trends, themes, andsolutions;
  • Ability to anticipate changes required within the business and to drive such changes inpartnership with business leaders;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion and initiative in dealing with confidentialinformation and/or in responding to inquiries;
  • You must successfully pass a Criminal Check
