EXPERIENCE DESIRED

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and working in close partnership with a HR Business Partner, you will be the main point of contact for recruitment activities for an assigned client group with a mix of union and non-union employees. The HR Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day HR Operations of the sites they will be responsible for, and will champion the employee and candidate experience, ensuring information and workflows are effective and accurate.
This role also provides administrative support for employee documentation requirements, assistance with the management of employee on leaves and preparation of reports. Coming up with solutions to complex challenges is what makes the HR Team a respected and credible partner. This role is a combination of coordination and tactical functions. The HR Coordinator also acts as a back-up to the HR Data Input Specialist.
Office Location: 100, 2915 – 26th Avenue SE, Calgary
The HR Coordinator might need to occasionally travel to the sites. You are required to have access to a car and able to drive.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position coordinates and supports the HR operations in the following areas:

  • Responsible for full cycle recruitment including (scheduling interviews, screenings and conducting reference checks) for assigned sites.
  • Partners with the HR Business Partner to strategize on workforce strategies to fill vacancies.
  • Employs best practices and behavioural interviewing on phone screens, video and in-person interviews, while also highlighting Bethany’s culture, mission & perks that has solidified us as an employer of choice.
  • Attends and leads workforce meetings with assigned client groups and prepares update reports for the meetings.
  • Coordinates the onboarding and orientation process.
  • Supports reporting and metrics for recruitment and turnover.
  • Uses the Applicant Tracking System Platform with the ability to report, post and recruit successfully. Follow up with hiring managers and ensures all postings are filled or closed in a timely manner.
  • Prepares letters of offer, changes of status or progression letters, determines salary placement based on relevant work experience from prior positions as per the collective agreements.
  • Participates and represents the organization in Career Fairs or other recruitment initiatives under the direction of the HR Business Partner.
  • Interprets policies and procedures based on relevant legislation and collective agreements.
  • Responsible for HRIS Inputs related to paperwork and the HR Ticketing System (round Robin member of the HR Ticketing system).
  • Acts as a point person for employees with inquiries about maternity and parental leave and provides necessary paperwork.
  • Acts as a liaison to complete various projects with external stakeholders.
  • Provides support to the HR Business Partner with Labour and Employee Relations as required.
