Description:

We are looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our vibrant and diverse HR Team at Royal Roads University situated on the beautiful and traditional lands of the Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) and Lekwungen (Songhees) ancestors and families.
The HR Coordinator supports the HR team, primarily the HR Consultants, with coordination and administrative support. The HR Coordinator supports the RRU employee experience with recruitment, onboarding, and various departmental activities including recognition programs and events.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, passionate about excellent customer service, and enthusiastic about teamwork! They must be a strong problem solver with a heightened attention to detail.

The Human Resources Coordinator primary responsibilities will include the coordination and support of:

  • Contract and policy development
  • Recruitment and selection
  • Onboarding and offboarding
  • HRIS applications
  • Employee and labour relations

Job Requirements

Required qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Human Resources or a related field of study;
  • Two or more years of related experience in Human Resources;
  • Experience working in recruitment support and coordination;
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and with collective agreements;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite of applications;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HRIS systems; HR Smart and/or Avanti are an asset;
  • Demonstrated office management skills and experience, including a history of process improvement recommendations

Preferred qualifications

  • CPHR or CHRP designation, or working towards a designation;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the University’s requirements, methods, culture and processes is an asset.

Additional Information
This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at MPT-A with a salary range of $64,409 (minimum) to $75,677 (midpoint) to $86,945 (maximum) per annum. Employment offers will normally be made between the minimum and midpoint of the range and are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
