Responsibilities:

  • Leads by example to achieve BG’s vision and Core Values;
  • Partners with location leadership, managers and supervisors to execute employee related operational goals;
  • Participates in development, review and execution of location department and human resources department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Assists in the recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, interns and temporary employees, including helping to write job descriptions for new positions, post open positions; works to drive applicant flow through cost effective methods; utilizes local workforce centers, job fairs, tech programs and other community methods for recruiting
  • Reviews applicants, schedules and participates in candidate interviews and provides offer letters as needed
  • Ensures pre-employments processes are complete and conducts new-employee orientation, including coordination of other company departments and notifications
  • Performs benefit administration duties to include communicating with and assisting employees in new hire benefit enrollment and open enrollment, supporting employees with claims and qualifying event questions, aids and works to ensure accurate information and changes are timely reported;
  • Supports the processing of payroll bi-weekly including PTO, deductions, corrections or changes, etc. are entered timely and correctly;
  • Assists in the new hire review process, bi-annual and annual performance review and merit increase processes
  • Handles employee relations questions and concerns and provides employee assistance program information, and conducts exit interviews
  • Proactively works with employees and managers to identify potential issues, trends and solutions in the workplace
  • Investigates and responds to complex workplace or employee relations issues; collects, analyzes, and provides data in support of the investigation process
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Provides recommended updates and changes to human resources documents, such as organizational charts, employee handbooks or directories, and other forms, policies, documents or processes;
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records timely and accurately including entering new hires, changes, terminations, transfers, payroll records and other information as needed;
  • Assists in the proper processing and administration of LOAs, FMLA, ADA, Unemployment claims, Workers Compensation, ACA reporting, EEO-1 reporting and other HR processes as requested;
  • Checks Attendance Line daily and notify managers’ of call-in’s, records tardiness or unauthorized personal time, track and administer attendance notices as needed.
  • Participates in company events such as Christmas Party, Picnic, blood drives, charity events, etc.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and capable to coach at all levels
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proactively acts regarding compliance of HR related safety, federal and state regulations and OSHA requirements
  • Demonstrates excellent computer and Microsoft office skills, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Performs other duties, projects and initiatives as assigned including providing HR support at any BG location
  • A bachelor’s degree and three (3) to four (4) years of Human Resources experience, OR
  • A master’ degree in Human Resources Management and two (2) years of experience in the HR field, OR
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, OR
  • Any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Human Resources (SHRM or HRCI) certification preferred.
  • Experience in Sage HRMS and Kronos strongly preferred.
