Description:

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

This full time HR Generalist role provides general HR support with a variety of activities and related tasks for the Human Resources team. The position requires a high degree of professionalism, customer service, task-orientation, discretion, initiative, flexibility, and dependability. This is an in office position located in the 96th & Keystone area of Indianapolis, IN.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant HR experience
  • 2+ years in general administrative, business, or HR facing roles

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is indoors. Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. May be asked to lift approximately 25 lbs. Exposure to moderate noise and light, i.e business office with computers, phone, printers, light foot traffic.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Respond to daily needs/inquiries of on-site team regarding payroll, benefits and general HR related issues to maximize productivity, employee retention and teamwork.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation in response to manager and employee queries.
  • Compile new hire packets, arranging drug screens and criminal background investigations.
  • Coordinate and assist in employee engagement activities.
  • Complete data entry and organizations within HRIS system and other platforms.
  • Perform various onboarding duties including paperwork audit, building access, communication with other departments (payroll and benefits), initiate various training programs.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for various employee data reports via ADP Workforce Now
  • Drafts and distributes internal and external correspondence as requested as well as independently responding to and/or initiating routine correspondence.
  • Aid in response to both worker’s compensation and unemployment claims
  • Respond to employment verification requests.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Assist in management, processing, and tracking of personnel leaves of absences (both FMLA and non-FMLA, personal, military, and worker’s compensation).
  • Aid in both investigation and follow-up on employee relations issues, including problems, complaints and/or grievances, either personal or performance-based in nature.
