Job Description
Position Summary
The KI Human Resources Generalist Junior will be responsible for administering policies/procedures and provide support to the Human Resources Department on various HR functions that may include, but not limited to reporting and analysis, time and labor administration, HR systems maintenance/support, compliance administration, leave of absences, worker’s comp, benefits, compensation processes, performance management, employee relations, terminations, and special projects as assigned. This position will be partnering with business managers on HR initiatives and liaise with KI employees, corporate HR, benefits, payroll staff, outside agencies and vendors.

Key job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Act as an HR business partner to managers and liaise with KI employees, corporate HR, benefits, payroll staff, outside agencies and vendors
  • Ensure all personal employee information is handled confidentially
  • Support with maintaining employee files
  • Work with HRIS to ensure data integrity and reporting needs for KI are addressed
  • Responsible for internal HR reporting including dashboards, headcount, salary reports and other ad hoc reports
  • Support with the creation, dissemination, analysis and reporting of employee surveys
  • Act as a HR liaison with payroll, support the monthly payroll process and managers in the time reporting process
  • Provide administrative support with personnel actions including onboarding, new hires, salary changes, performance reviews, transfers, promotions, benefits related issues, leaves of absences, worker’s comp, terminations and other personnel functions
  • Develop job descriptions for newly created positions and update existing positions
  • Support with the applicant tracking system administration (Workday) and other HR systems
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions
  • Ensure KI’s policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with local, state and federal labor laws
  • Respond and provide guidance to employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures
  • Manage the content on the company intranet (Employee Handbook and the Manager Center, etc.)
  • Support with performance management and compensation processes
  • Assist with employee relations
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent*
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Strong understanding of HR principles and practices and data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with all level of employees
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to think analytically and problem solve
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong technical aptitude allowing for quick mastery of various, web-based systems used in performing work
  • Flexible and able to change plans according to circumstances

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree with major in Psychology, Human Resources Management or Business Administration
  • Prior experience with PeopleSoft, Workday or other HRIS systems
