We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a knowledgeable, culture-focussed Human Resources Generalist. Possessing exceptional skills and experience in recruitment to join our team located in Toronto, near Toronto Pearson Int’l Airport.
Lineman’s Testing Laboratories of Canada ("LTL”) is a division of Rexel Canada Electrical Inc., specializing in the utility and industrial sectors. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the management team to effectively manage the day-to-day human resources requirements of the company.

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the role of recruiter in a recruiting agency and/or very similar position.
  • Must have a degree in Human Resources from a recognized institution and a CHRP professional designation
  • Possess a keen understanding of legalities of business law in relation to HR and employee employment rights and how to apply them within your day-to-day work, company policy documentation and employee welfare
  • Experience in full cycle recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration and understanding of payroll
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills with exceptional attention to detail with the ability to meet and prioritize deadlines
  • Methodical in approach to problem solving and be able to manage filing/database system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to recognize the position as one of a highly trusted and confidential nature

Responsibilities:

  • Executes all aspects of the recruitment process using the Applicant Tracking System: job postings, screens and selects candidates for advancement in the hiring process; coordinates interviews; collects feedback; manages candidate experience and follow up
  • Staffing logistics and personal and professional success of employees, which involves employee orientation, development and training
  • Employee welfare, safety, wellness and health and counselling
  • HR policy development and documentation in line with company’s corporate vision
  • Up to date with relevant and current information relating to Human Resources; changes in Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety, Provincial Human Rights Act, WSIB, Bill 168, Labor Relations Act, etc.
  • Cooperate with companies Health and Safety Committee, providing guidance in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and other authorities having jurisdiction
  • Support the performance management process and ensure performance reviews for all administrative employees are conducted thoroughly and in a timely fashion
  • Assist and participate in employee social activities and events
  • Ensure all job descriptions, policies and handbooks are updated and current for all employees
