POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated skills in resolving employee relations issues, typically resulting from several years of related experience.
  • The ability to implement new human resource programs designed to meet organization objectives (e.g. retention, compensation, employee services).
  • A working knowledge of all human resource activities and associated state and federal regulations (e.g. COBRA, Wage and Hour laws, Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Employment regulations, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, American with Disabilities Act, FMLA, CFRA, etc.)
  • Basic accounting and general math skills sufficient to analyze compensation, benefits and other data, and prepare associated reports.
  • Personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and HRIS
  • The flexibility to deal effectively with changes in work schedules and be able to travel from site to site.
  • Covid-19 vaccination required as a condition of employment as required by State law. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with supervisors to assist in the development of job descriptions and provides appropriate guidance on exempt/non-exempt classification; updates descriptions as needed to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participates in compensation surveys for the Clinic’s job classifications.
  • Advises supervisors on performance reviews and salary increases in accordance with union contract and policies.
  • Plans, organizes and implements new benefit programs and policies; administers the annual Open Enrollment process; drafts and distributes communications for employees and managers.
  • Communicates with employees on benefits questions; assists in making claims; researches and resolves claims and other issues.
  • Administers leaves of absence policies; maintains communication with employees on leave; works with supervisors to coordinate employees return to work as scheduled.
  • Assists in the resolution of employee complaints; counsels employees on employment related matters.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of employee services such as the employee newsletter, safety awareness, and employee recreational and morale-enhancing social events.
  • Counsels and advises supervisors and employees on Clinic human resources policies, union contract and related employment laws.
