The People team plays a crucial organisational role in Shopee by channeling important resources to key functions in the company. People are key to Shopee’s growth, and as our business expands, so does the need to develop and support our employees.
ABOUT THE TEAM:
HR Generalists in Shopee process the employee life cycle, working closely with stakeholders and the team to drive the business excellence together in a fast paced working environment. We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to help process and execute the day to day HR transactions.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Process and execute day to day HR transactions throughout the employee life cycle from onboarding integration, employee grievances, performance management, compensation & benefit, to exit management.
- Support on people matters and legal processes, such as compliance with local labor laws and regulations
- Process and manage all aspects of payroll, including calculating hours, calculating deductions, processing new hires and terminations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely payroll records and reports. Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee questions about payroll and benefits.
- Build and promote a strong sense of engagement with employees
- Support implementation of initiatives from Centre of Excellence such as Learning & Development, Talent Management, Employers branding, Compensation & Benefits when necessary
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- At least 2 years of experience as HR Generalist with strong Payroll background
- Proven track record of providing effective support and guidance on HR matters
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
