Description:
SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist will partner with management and other members of the HR team to ensure delivery of quality human resources programs and services. This position serves as a professional team member in the delivery of full-cycle HR services. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. Their duties include comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, drafting templates for HR documents and working with other members of the department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for company employees; coordinate benefits and leave administration; HR information management and reporting; employee relations and compliance; and performance management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS Diploma or Associates degree required with six years of HR experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred or any equivalent combination of education or experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Experience with high volume of onboarding and offboarding activities
- Experience processing and documenting transfers, promotions, and salary adjustments
- Knowledge of performance management systems and practices including evaluations, progressive discipline, and performance improvement plans
- Experience conducting complaint investigations
- Demonstrated awareness of cultural competence and Diversity / Equity / Inclusion values
- Good understanding of general HR practices and state and federal employment laws and regulations

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leaves
- Enter and maintain accurate, up to date personnel data into the HRIS; promote Employee Self-Service functionality and provide technical support to employees who need it
- Serve as point of contact for management and employees regarding benefits, leave of absence, and other work related questions
- Coordinate leave requests and handle claims administration including FMLA, disability and workers compensation
- Generate official documents such as offer letters, appointment letters and salary worksheets
- Work with multiple departments to coordinate smooth and efficient onboarding for new hires
- Oversee processing of pre-employment documentation to include applicable background screening and employee eligibility verifications
- Support and facilitate new hire orientation; educate new hires on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations
- Oversee terminations including exit interview, generating appropriate documentation, and registering COBRA events
- Support and facilitate initiatives to build employee recognition and morale as directed by leadership
- Support and facilitate training and development initiatives as directed by leadership
- Partner with managers on staffing plans, job descriptions and recruitment strategies to attract and hire talent to the organization
- Support annual open enrollment and assist employees with benefits related questions and issues
- Provide guidance and recommendations to managers with respect to the performance management system including progressive discipline, performance evaluations and performance improvement plans
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Provide open door to employees who request information or guidance, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate entity
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain complete and accrual digital personnel records in accordance with Joint Commission standards
