Description:

Job Title: HR Manager
Status: Full Time, permanent
Location: Delta, BC – Head Office
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 based on experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in a similar industry and/or unionized environment
  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred
  • Strong communications, negotiations, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with employees, union representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Dayforce would be an asset) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess a class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle
  • Highly adaptable and able to handle change in an effective and positive manner
  • Fluent in English (both written and oral)
  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Resourceful, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies

Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance and mentorship to the human resources team
  • Acts as a trusted advisor and advocate for management and employees, addressing their concerns, questions, and feedback in a timely and empathetic manner
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote employee engagement and a positive work culture
  • Work with the HR team to implement employee engagement surveys and develop action plans to improve employee morale and engagement.
  • Develop and implement performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to the HR team, managers and supervisors on performance-related matters, including coaching, feedback, and disciplinary actions.
  • Bridges management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues that arise in the workplace
  • Serve as the point of contact for Labour Relations support for the HR team
  • Establishes positive relationships with union representatives and manages labour relations issues effectively and provides support in union meetings and bargaining
  • Interpret and enforce collective bargaining agreements, ensuring compliance with union contracts and labor laws.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation, human rights and the Canadian Labour Code
  • Maintain accurate records related to employee data, payroll, benefits, and attendance.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned
