Description:

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Human Rresources Manager to join our growing team.
We are currently searching for a Human Resources Manager to join JELD-WEN Windows and Doors at our Winnipeg Manufacturing Facility. The ideal candidate for this role will partner with the management team to support and deliver on strategic initiatives. This individual will manage and lead a team responsible for the daily HR activities for the Plant as well as staff and management employees.

Key responsibilities in this role are:

  • Maintaining and enhancing the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating HR policies, programs, and practices.
  • Support all HR practices to attract, develop, and retain the talent necessary to grow and enhance the business in line with the strategic direction.
  • Partner with the local leadership team in providing daily support to ensure effectiveness and optimization of its operations and resources.
  • Oversee the HR team to ensure optimal performance in achieving business objectives while driving high engagement to lead talent development and succession planning processes for key positions within the organization.
  • Assist with the development and execution of programs for learning and development for all employees.
  • Plan, organize and execute employee events with the HR team.
  • Coach encourage and promote regular, effective ongoing communication with all levels of employees as well as with the union representatives in the Plant.Will be actively involved in union related matters including the resolution of grievances and CBA negotiations.

In this position the preferred candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • CHRP designation or a post-secondary degree with a focus on Human Resources.
  • A minimum of five years HR management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Previous experience in a unionized environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to promote cooperation, build consensus, gain support, and influence decision-making and outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills along with a sense of urgency and personal accountability.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment would be necessary for any applicant to be successful in this role.
  • Possess the ability to manage and delegate as required.
  • Strong computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) would be required.
  • Familiarity with various HR and Employee Management Systems (i.e. PeoplePoint, UKG Time & Attendance).
  • A collaborative approach to resolution and a friendly and professional disposition.

The ideal candidate should be a team player, be able to work independently when required and also have the desire to improve their individual skill set as required. The ability to work with people and patience are key attributes for candidates to be successful in this role.
