In response to our expanding operations, this newly created position is aimed at strengthening our team’s capabilities. In this generalist HR role, you will spearhead talent acquisition and recruitment processes to expand our national business and provide comprehensive support across all areas of Human Resources.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the entire HR spectrum as you delve into various facets of HR. As a new addition to the team, you’ll have the autonomy to add your flair to the position, and your contributions will shape the future of our HR practices.

ABOUT YOU:

We’re seeking an individual who can confidently and enthusiastically take on this standalone role. While you will be supported by management, as the sole HR representative, you’ll be entrusted with coordinating all HR functions, and will ideally possess the following:

  • Human Resource qualifications.
  • Experience in Recruitment, Human Resources, or another relevant role.
  • Have practical experience and knowledge of modern recruitment techniques.
  • Be a proactive and resourceful self-starter, capable of taking initiative and working autonomously with minimal supervision to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to deal with people and people-related issues at all levels.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong ethics and reliability with an ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity when dealing with private and sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of employment and relevant legislation.
  • Ideally, have experience in the construction or engineering industry (or similar). Though not mandatory, relevant industry experience would be beneficial.
  • Possess strong communication skills, ensuring clear and timely communication with colleagues, management, and stakeholders.

This is a permanent full-time role, but we will also consider part-time hours (minimum 32 hours per week) for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work closely with the Senior Management Team to:

  • Source talent and manage the recruitment and selection process to drive the expansion of our national business.
  • Contribute to the development of effective HR-related processes, procedures, and policies to optimise organisational performance.
  • Support the probation and performance review process.
  • Provide general human resource advice and guidance to both employees and managers.
  • Preparation of compelling job advertisements and position descriptions to effectively communicate opportunities and requirements.
  • Implement effective onboarding and induction processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Support for dispute resolution.
  • Training needs assessment and coordination of training delivery, leveraging both internal and external resources.
  • Assist in the management and reporting of workplace incidents.
  • Industry worker competency and registration.
  • Provision of Work Health & Safety Advice and Planning.
  • Coordinate visa requirements and applications with current and potential employees.
  • Assist with auditing as required.
  • Complete other duties within the HR scope.
