As the Human Resources Partner, the primary point of contact for both the LTC Residences and staff requiring HR support and advice for Human Resource programs and operational inquiries. Your primary responsibility will be to represent and align the operational HR needs with the corporate objectives by building and developing strong relationships and core competencies. By collaborating closely with the Residences, you will contribute to the overall success and excellence of our communities while making a meaningful impact on the lives of our staff, residents, and their families.
This position is hybrid based out of the Mississauga office and travel between sites is required.

In this role you will be focused on

  • Support change management through coaching and advocacy.
  • Provide effective issue resolution with the engagement of expert internal resources.
  • Create leadership capacity as a human resources educator and advisor to management and staff.
  • Support and mentor site management and staff in employee engagement programs, HR policy and operational standards, employee and labour relations, workforce planning, and HR administration.
  • Manage risks by assessing workforce metrics and trends.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for fostering a safe, positive, and respectful work environment for managers and staff and fostering the development of others through coaching and mentoring of staff.
  • Coaches management and staff on rights, and processes, and provides options with recommendations for issue resolution consistent with policy, legislation, and collective agreements.
  • Assist site management in the planning and implementation of workforce adjustments because of approved budget changes.
  • Ensure timely and efficient flow of information and documents between employee and corporate office of WCB claims and leaves.
  • Work closely with managers to ensure human resources protocols are following approved policy and operational standards.

What You Bring

  • Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration or Human Resources.
  • Minimum 3 years in a well-rounded HR generalist role or similar.
  • Experience in Long Term Care/Assisted Living environments and exposure to a unionized environment are assets.
  • Valid driver’s license is required for regular travel between sites.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment and related legislation and OH&S requirements, compliances, and obligations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with outstanding customer service abilities and the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, displaying flexibility, personal integrity, and the capacity to collaborate with senior management.
  • Proficient in computer skills, specifically in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one.
