Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

  • Interpretation of Awards, Collective Labor Agreements (CLCs), Individual Flexibility Agreements (IFAs), and Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), ensuring accurate application of rules for processing the weekly payroll for several entities across the business.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Fair Work Act and other relevant legislation for all payroll-related matters.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for all payroll audit plans and action requirements, maintaining meticulous records and addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  • Conducting monthly end processing and payroll tax calculations, generating necessary reports for deductions and operations for HIG and other entities as required.
  • Managing the setup of new starters, including entering employee records into the payroll system (Pay Global) and handling related documentation.
  • Monitoring times recorded by departmental managers to ensure compliance.
  • Calculating and processing incentive payments accurately.
  • Providing timely and accurate responses to payroll queries from staff members, offering support and guidance as needed.
  • Contributing to ongoing team training initiatives, ensuring all team members are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for effective payroll management and compliance.
  • Manage monthly reconciliation and lodgement of superannuation, payroll tax, and workers’ compensation payments, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely submissions. Additionally, oversee month-end reporting and end-of-financial-year reconciliations for all entities within the organization.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Ability to ensure compliance with the National Industrial Relations System, Interpretation of Contracts, Awards and Agreements
  • Understanding of Payroll Tax legislation, Superannuation Guarantee, Single Touch Payroll
  • Broad knowledge of Workers Compensation payments
  • Full interpretation of the Harvey Beef Incentive payment system
  • Ability to monitor of Work Rights across the business.
