Description:
SCHOOL/POSITION OVERVIEW
BelovED Academy is a highly successful K-12 charter school in the culturally vibrant Jersey City. BelovED currently serves over1500 students. It is seeking a full-time Human Resources Specialist.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- 3+ Years Human Resources Experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR management, policies, best practices and procedures;
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment laws;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written);
- Proficient in Excel and Google Docs;
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the organization and employees;
- Ability to travel to school locations to meet with staff as needed;
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
The Employee shall report to and work under the direction of the School Business Administrator.
Among other responsibilities not here enumerated, the Employee shall provide Business Office support relating to:
- New Hire Employment Verifications;
- New Hire and Renewed Staff Contract Customization and Distribution;
- New Hire On-Boarding;
- Managing personnel issues and concerns;
- Payroll;
- Pensions;
- Oversight of employment enrollment and terminations in school healthcare plans;
- Employee Guidance Relating to Health Benefits and Leaves;
- Employee Attendance and Sick Day Tracking;
- Unemployment;
- Preparation and Submission of State Reports; and
- Assistance with Board Meeting Agenda Preparation and Distribution;
The Employee may be assigned other duties from time to time or permanently to support school operations.
