Description:

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join its team at their Savage, MN headquarter location. This role will report to the Human Resources Operations Manager and will support the day-to-day operations within the human resources functions and duties. The HR Specialist is responsible for end-to-end payroll, processing of employee changes, job posting, employee preboarding and onboarding, benefits administration and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll through ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for multi-state and multi union payroll.
  • Run post-payroll and month end reporting, including 401(K) & HSA contributions, union dues, accounting reports for G/L.
  • Tracks and communicates employee performance reviews and union step increases.
  • Verify and process all payroll adjustments including, new hires, terminations, wage garnishments, compensation changes, 401(K) contributions, etc.
  • Support all pre-boarding and onboarding efforts, including communications to employees and managers throughout: processing of background and motor vehicle records reports, creation and integration of new hire ADP profile and benefits enrollment. Escalating issues as need to the HR Operations Manager.
  • Assist in open enrollment meetings and communications.
  • Support HR team in working with all levels of an organization to successfully integrate company values and mission with business objectives to improve engagement, workplace relationships and collaboration, and boost productivity and retention.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain employee personnel files.
  • Complete offboarding notices, documentation and initiates exit interviews. Updates necessary ADP, vendor systems, and ad hoc reports. Re-files personnel files following termination.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong Organizational Skills such as effective time management, establishing priorities, detail orientation, and determination to effectively follow through with tasks and duties. (Must have strong multi-tasking skills.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or history of hands-on experience in a human resource role.
  • Experience working with an HRIS system preferred.
  • Strong computer skills (MS 365).
  • Experience working with labor union agreements is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
  • Able to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.
  • Have the desire to take action, improve, and be appreciative.
  • Possess the capability to effectively engage with co-workers and vendors in a respectful manner.
