Description:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
- Highly analytical with strong data management skills including MS Excel, reporting and analytics
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in Human Resources, Business, or relevant post-secondary education program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with ability to manage multiple demands under tight timeframes in a confidential environment
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Proficiency in PC applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook
- Highly detail-oriented and accurate
- Familiarity with the Dayforce HCM platform is considered a strong asset
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE
Reporting to the HR Project Specialist, the Human Resources (HR) Summer Student will assist in the implementation of the Dayforce Human Capital Management System (HCM). The HCM implementation project includes replacing multiple platforms and environments across the County. Please Note This is a highly analytical role that focuses significantly on data and data systems over traditional Human Resources activities. Strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with data, analytics and reporting are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the export, manipulation, import and validation of HR data across multiple HR systems. Strong Excel skills are required including the ability to run standard Excel functions to organize and review data efficiently.
- Assist in defining and documenting HR processes in both current and future state scenarios
- Assist in the configuration of Dayforce HCM through maintenance and testing including but not limited to:
- Pay Policies and Entitlements
- New Earnings & Deductions
- Clock Devices and Web Clock
- Workflow Administration
- Configuration and assistance with deployment of additional modules (e.g. Onboarding, Benefits, Compensation)
- As assigned create business process documents, job aides and guides for Dayforce users and ensure they are kept up to date.
- Support Payroll and HR to develop process efficiencies and ongoing process improvements. Assist with training super users on functionalities, new features, and best practices.
- Assist with the creation of ad hoc reports that are not available in the Dayforce report marketplace or Reporting and Analytics.
- Escalation of issues to the HR Project Specialist to support Payroll Team and HR with trouble shooting and fixes related to HCM & Payroll issues.
