JOB SUMMARY:

Information and Technology Services (ITS) is looking for an IAM Development and Operations Manager to join the IAM team within ITS.
The IAM Development and Operations Manager will lead a team of application developers and DevOps administrators focused on building and maintaining custom enterprise-wide IAM tools and integrations. They will plan and manage team assignments, manage team performance, and coach and mentor staff. They will pitch ideas, get buy-in from stakeholders, and drive results through their team. They will ensure that their team delivers high-quality, cost-effective services that meet high standards of operational excellence through implementing industry best practices. This position will also offer the opportunity to draw on individual strengths to provide team-wide leadership across the approximately 25-person IAM Team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of management or supervisory experience, including recruiting, mentoring, career development and performance management, leadership, and/or team building.
  • Minimum of seven years of IT professional experience in a related role requiring confidentiality, timeliness, customer service, organization, prioritization, and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive experience managing large and complex application development efforts involving project planning, requirements elicitation, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance and support.
  • Extensive experience with iterative SDLC practices.
  • Extensive experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of widely recognized IAM practices and procedures related to identity management, encryption, authentication, and access management.
  • Experience working with partners to gather business requirements and articulate service capabilities to partners.
  • Demonstrated strong, effective communication ability in presentation and advanced writing skills (e.g., reflecting sensitivity to tone, audience, and organizational politics).

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience working in higher education and research institutions
  • Proven track record of integrating AI technologies into application development and DevOps processes to optimize team performance and efficiency.
  • Experience in leveraging AI-driven tools, such as machine learning models for automated testing, deployment optimization, or anomaly detection. Demonstrated ability to lead AI initiatives within development and DevOps teams, driving innovation and delivering tangible improvements in productivity and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage a team of motivated application developers and DevOps administrators.
  • Own technical vision, design, architecture, and implementation of agile SDLC processes optimized for delivering software quickly, reliably, and with high quality.
  • Own and lead implementation of best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Own and lead implementation of best practices for version control, monitoring, and security throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Foster close collaboration throughout the entire SDLC between application developers, DevOps administrators, and IAM Business Systems Analysts.
  • Ensure the continuous availability and operational efficiency of IAM systems and infrastructure, maintaining uninterrupted uptime to support organizational operations.
  • Foster a culture of automation and efficiency.
  • Ensure work assignments are prioritized, equitably assigned, and completed timely while maintaining high-quality customer service.
  • Develop and mentor staff, providing accurate, specific, and timely feedback.
  • Identify and address skills gaps by conducting skills assessments, training needs analysis and ongoing evaluation.
  • Recruit and select high-caliber people with diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experience.
