Description:
Please note this is strictly a leadership and people management role. People leadership skills & experience is a must and we do not expect you to be involved in technical decision making.
REQUIREMENTS AND RELEVANT INFORMATION:
- Australian citizenship is a must. Permanent residency is not sufficient.
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- VPSG-6 salary range $130,673 - $174,869p.a. plus superannuation.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Software Development Manager, you have the crucial role of leading a team of software developers, setting and upholding our software engineering processes and standards, and championing our agile ways of working.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Leading, managing and coaching a team of software engineers, embedding an agile culture
- Growing the engineering team, recruiting new engineers bring and learn new skills and capabilities into the team, aligning with Victoria Police’s strong culture and values
- Working with iteration leads and business stakeholders in pipeline / backlog management
- Leading a culture of accountability and responsibility around delivery, and creating an environment where engineers can deliver consistent, high quality product
- Collaborating with product managers to prioritise application development aligned with product roadmaps
- Prioritisation of application development enhancement requirements
