Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with post qualifying experience.
  • Comprehensive experience with preparation and review of external financial statements and liaising with auditors. Have relevant experience in a banking or financial services accounting or reporting function. Strong knowledge of banking products.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with experience in preparation and presentation of management information to senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of IFRS in particular IFRS 9.

Responsibilities:

Wells Fargo Bank International has a new opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant with expertise in IFRS financial reporting to join the team in Dublin. The successful candidate will manage both management and external reporting, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. They will also play a pivotal role in various initiatives, including the coordination of the annual external audit and the Pillar 3 reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local financial reporting requirements, co-ordinating the on-boarding of external auditors, and managing the annual external audit, including the preparation of financial statements. Additionally, you will support the implementation of the new EU CSRD reporting requirements, co-ordinate with Tax and manage the outsourcing arrangement for WFBI.
Over and above BAU responsibilities the candidate will be expected to work with the WFBI Financial Controller to drive process enhancement and rationalization initiatives locally as well as promote the adoption of standard approaches and tools supported by the International Controller team.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and review the monthly IFRS financial statements including determination and recording of entries to convert from US GAAP to IFRS.
  • Be responsible for the management and coordination of the annual external audit, including interaction with auditors, preparation of statements and notes, identification and resolution of new requirements.
  • Be responsible for the coordination and review of CRR disclosures, country by country reporting, and conversion of the financial statements to iXBRL, in consultation with the appointed external auditors.
  • Take responsibility for the preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns and partnership with the international tax team to support timely and accurate reporting to the Revenue Commissioners and compliance with the Cooperative Compliance Framework.
  • Support the local regulatory reporting team in the compilation of the FINREP return.
  • Be responsible for the IFRS 9 provision calculations, including the preparation of the quarterly IFRS 9 paper for the WFBI Board, in co-ordination with the credit risk department and Lines of Business.
  • Liaise with the Group Accounting policy team to ensure all interpretations of accounting standards are documented appropriately for WFBI. Ensure the team is kept up to date with all new standards.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of new accounting standards under US GAAP and IFRS specific to WFBI in the monthly and annual financial statements.

CSRD Reporting and financial reporting ESG reporting:

  • Lead the CSRD implementation plan for WFBI working with the wider international team to ensure consistency of data sourcing and reporting approaches.
  • Partner with the International Data Controller in the identification and sourcing of new data requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are implemented and appropriately evidenced to comply with RCSA.

Management Reporting:

  • Preparation of the monthly suite of management reporting, including analysis of results and commentary against budget and other key performance metrics including presentation to senior management.
  • Preparation and presentation of accounting memos to senior management and various Committees.
  • Liaise with other functions and group level to ensure accuracy of reporting, providing solutions to any issues raised.
  • Preparation of ad-hoc reports and requests as required.
  • Oversight and reporting of transfer pricing for WFBI.

Controller Functions:

  • Responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures and guidelines are up to date for the IFRS team and that all working files are maintained to the Wells Fargo standard.
  • Represent the IFRS Controller team with active participation across various project working groups.
  • Liaise with Internal Audit and Operational Risk to ensure speedy resolution of any issues arising.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and develop the IFRS team to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of all IFRS reporting across all locations - Dublin, Frankfurt and Chennai.
  • Responsible for on-the-job training and provision of support and guidance to team members.
  • Champion learning across the team and drive the enhancement of reporting processes using new digitalisation tools.
