JOB SUMMARY

As an Imaging Informatics Administrator, you will use your technical skills to support the IT infrastructure of Diagnostic Imaging and help the DI management team with the execution of technology projects. You will collaborate with the staff of user departments to ensure the optimal, secure and safe use of PCs and peripherals for Diagnostic Imaging’s PACS and RIS applications. You will also provide PACS and RIS support to assist with troubleshooting and administrative tasks.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Recent experience with hospital information systems, specifically Diagnostic Imaging information systems such as Meditech Imaging & Therapeutic Services & other Meditech modules.
  • Working knowledge of DI clerical, Radiologists’ and clinical/technical workflows.
  • Understanding and knowledge of PACS workflow throughout the organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer software applications and interfacing engine/ technology standards and functionality.
  • Experience with SQL and querying in Oracle database would be an asset.
  • Experience in handling IT Help Desk escalations, providing status updates, and documenting problems and solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve workstation hardware issues such as video cards, printer/scanner and Barco/LG monitors
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend hardware and software tools.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and change management control.
  • Knowledge of MS office suite, MS Windows 10, MS Server 2008 and up.
  • Proven strong interpersonal and communications skills with experience in conveying complex technical concepts in accessible language, ensuring clarity and understanding across diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of information systems including Meditech hospital information system (HIS), (WTIS) wait times, voice recognition/dictation (Nuance Power Scribe 360), PACS (Agfa preferred), and other imaging software programs or decision support tools.
  • Experience with HL7 preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree or diploma in computer science or medical radiation technology, or equivalent.
  • A Project Management certificate or relevant strong experience in managing IT projects.
  • An Imaging Informatics (PACS) certification and strong experience in and knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems, or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve PACS issues for hospital staff, either on-site or remotely, across various departments and locations.
  • Ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the hospital’s technical infrastructure, meeting the service level targets, by applying your technical skills to set-up, operate, monitor, document and fix problems.
  • Consult, train, and assist users of PACS.
  • Manage problems assigned by the PACS Administrator in a timely manner, provide regular status updates and document the problem and resolution.
  • Assist with the implementation of projects in your areas of expertise.
  • Set up scheduled jobs, logs, set up user access, test configurations.
  • Prepare operating procedures, write documentation and troubleshoot problems.
  • Maintain procedures regarding planning, testing, scheduling documentation and customer impact of changes.
  • Work effectively and professionally with vendors to ensure SLA agreements are met.
  • Liaise with vendor services in maintenance and troubleshooting of PACS core servers and storage systems.
  • Work cooperatively with staff and the Information Technology department to ensure the departmental systems are compatible with PACS and RIS requirements and hospital information systems.
  • Auditing orders, reports, and autofaxing, correcting WTIS interface messages, querying the Oracle database to support managerial decision making.
