Description:
Key Result Areas Understand the scientific and clinical aspects of the studies undertaken in Nuclear Medicine and the need to comply with statutory regulations. Follow departmental local rules covering the safe use of ionising radiation. Carry out studies based on standard protocols but using acquired skill and judgement to obtain optimised diagnostic information Use gamma cameras to acquire static, dynamic, gated and SPECT-CT studies. Process images, analyse data and present studies to consultant radiologists for reporting, pointing out any anomalies that may affect the outcome Take part in the Radiopharmacy dispensing rota, using appropriate radiation protection methods and aseptic techniques, to ensure compliance with GMP Join the Radiopharmacy packing rota and follow SOPs to label and carry out quality control of radiopharmaceuticals, such as thin layer chromatography Calculate and draw up individual radiopharmaceutical doses in accordance with ARSAC DRLs, using appropriate radiation protection methods and administer to patients by intravenous injection multiple times per day.
Cross check doses drawn up by colleagues Carry out, analyse and report non-imaging tests Attend multidisciplinary clinics and explain molecular radiotherapy to patients, with emphasis on radiation protection instructions Organise and schedule Nuclear Medicine Therapy appointments, including booking treatment rooms and ordering the radiopharmaceutical Participate in the therapy on call rota Administer unsealed molecular radiotherapy and deliver complex radiation protection advic
