How does the work this team does make a difference
The team, work with perpetrators of ASB & low-level crime, who do unpaid work towards repairing harm they caused, i.e. litter-picking, gardening, cleaning of graffiti, etc. Perpetrators are engaged and held to account for their actions.
The purpose of this role
To lead the IJ & ASB Hotspot Patrolling projects, ensuring delivery against requirements, ensuring perpetrators of ASB swiftly clean up their mess, and communities have a say over, and more visibility of, reparation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Immediate Justice (IJ) Supervisors who work with offenders of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) related crime, to complete a range of effective reparative activities, personally repairing or making good the damage caused by an offence, adhering to objectives in accordance with the Immediate Justice grant and specification.
  • Provide management support, with responsibility for performance, training, welfare, and development to maximise the potential of staff.
  • Oversee partnership arrangements to identify locations for reparative activities, ensuring all risk assessments such as relating to the work activity, location, equipment, individual needs, etc. comply with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensure all IJ and related Out of Court Resolution (OOCR) timeframes and Home-Office grant requirements are adhered to.
  • Liaise and progress opportunities with partner agencies and key stakeholders to increase IJ referrals and Hotspot patrols, in line with their own policies and practices, identifying barriers and collaborating to deliver results.
  • Manage the relationships, IJ and ASB systems, and processes between the OPFCC, the Police, and local authorities taking a pro-active role in identifying and initiating improvement activities as and when required.
  • Act as a principle point of contact in relation to IJ and ASB Hotspot Patrolling, providing specialist advice, guidance, and support for all partners and stakeholders.
  • Analyse IJ and ASB work requirements to ensure capacity is available to meet demand, taking responsibility for the creation and development of performance management information to improve service delivery.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of plans for Immediate Justice and ASB Hotspot Patrolling by active participation in Police and cross agency meetings as required.
  • Provide support for the IJ Supervisors, Police Officers, and Local Authority Enforcement Officers undertaking ASB Hotspot Patrols.
  • Update IJ and ASB Hotspot Patrolling communications and briefing material, ensure the most up to date and accurate information is disseminated.
  • Oversight of duty planning to ensure resources are being deployed effectively to meet ASB patrol requirements according to analytics, best practice research, and identified need
