Description:

Thrive Impact Fund is a place-based fund, focused on impact investing in British Columbia, primarily in smaller communities. Thrive’s primary mission and mandate is to invest in and support good projects and enterprises that address social, environmental and cultural challenges. We utilize a blended and catalytic approach, increasing access to capital to enterprises and communities facing barriers to finance.
Thrive Impact Fund is a subsidiary of Scale Collaborative (https://) and Purppl (https://www.purppl.ca).
We are looking for someone to join our team. Our ideal candidate cares deeply about the future of BC and its local communities. You know what small community living and being is like. You see and understand the power and potential of social enterprises, whether they are for-profit or non-profit, as a way to create positive social and environmental change. You have thought about the role of money, and how it can be used as a powerful force for good. You have also recognized that funding and resources can bypass good projects, communities and entrepreneurs, for many different reasons, and you want to change that. You believe that long-term sustainability requires shifting the financial system, and you want to contribute to this change. You thrive in a start-up and emergent space, and like working in small teams.
The Position
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Impact Investment Associate is responsible for supporting due diligence processes and ensuring that investment processes and agreements are being maintained and followed. You will conduct financial analysis, prep loans agreements, ensure loans systems and processes are being followed, monitor the portfolio of investments and support impact and reporting requirements.
The Impact Investment Associate will assist in gathering and maintaining key documentation, ensuring that reporting is up-to-date and communicated, and monitor progress towards both business and impact outcomes. The Impact Investment Associate has the capacity to analyze financials and support investees through information and documentation collected for financial, business, operations and impact outcomes.
The Impact Investment Associate will be able to report out on sourcing, monitoring and portfolio trends and impact outcomes, including preparing reports for the Board, investors and community at large.
