QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant tertiary qualification will be viewed highly favorable
- At least 5 years experience within the discipline of Import/Export/Seafreight/Airfreight
- Experience at a supervisory level / managing a team is essential
- Excellent computer literacy (Outlook and Excel)
- Dealing with reefer shipments, inspections and delivery would be viewed favorably
Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
Bidvest International Logistics is looking to recruit an Import Supervisor within the Sea freight Imports division, to be based at our Facility in Bonaero Park (Kempton Park) The successful candidate will coordinate and supervise all import activities within safe, smooth and efficient procedures and to further ensure that paperwork and monetary transactions are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and according to trade laws. The successful candidate should have the skills to guide a team, to ensure client satisfaction and timeous delivery of client cargo.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maximise customer satisfaction through multiple disciplines, ie, Forwarding, invoicing, queries, customs etc.
- Manage staff performance reports, as well as client’s status reports
- Supervising collection of clearnance documents, as well as employees responsible for this function
- Ensuring that further Import related instructions from the BUM are attended to
- Attending Client visits with the BBU Manager / BBU KAM / Attend Team meetings with clients
- Holding daily meeting with staff to establish if the departments objectives and clients objectives are being met
- Manage the Operational Dashboard and reports to ensure the departments KPI’s are fuly met
- On the floor management to ensure that staff are on top of their work, problems indentified are resolved and dealt with
- The abilty to grow and develop staff within the department
- To indentify problems and issues before they develop or expose themselves
- To manage complex shipments with the controllers and when called upon, work after hours and on weekends
