Essentials

  • Excellent knowledge of the life & health products within the region, especially profitability drivers and risk profiles, obtained via direct experience in costing, actuarial management, or similar roles;
  • Keen aptitude of decision making through analytical assessment along with professional judgement;
  • Must be able to concisely communicate a management action to key stakeholders and routinely engage with peers throughout the organisation via strong verbal and written communication abilities;
  • Strong organisation skills, able to prioritise multiple concurrent projects; and
  • You enjoy team collaboration and contributing to the broader team on local and global business initiatives.

Nice to haves

  • In-depth knowledge of the various local actuarial valuation requirements for our clients, by country;
  • Familiarity with general IFRS-17 mechanics; impact assessments; and
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in implementation of management actions.

Responsibilities:

You are a creative thinker seeking an exciting opportunity to contribute to Life & Health Re’s In-Force Optimisation (IFO) initiatives. Your leadership in the global expansion of IFO will be demonstrated as you leverage your product knowledge to help design and execute on actions that will transform the global life and health balance sheet.
You will be responsible for networking with regional experts to develop and execute specific management actions that enhance the overall performance of Life & Health Re’s in-force book of business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Synthesise the knowledge gathered through professional networking to develop a pipeline of prospective actions that will assist in achieving the IFO 5-year Ambition, and advance the pipeline forward into executable transactions;
  • Partner with Regional Portfolio Steering & Monitoring teams (PSM) as well as key individuals within the Marketing Unit(s) via Smart Circle participation to identify regional & MU needs;
  • Engage with Finance colleagues to understand the levers within the IFRS reporting framework and characteristics of the existing balance sheet so the financial impacts of any management action is identified early in the process; and
  • Assist in Life & Health Re’s retrocession plans, working closely with Alternative Capital Partners (ACP) as needed.
