JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated In-House Construction Attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support related to construction projects, contracts, and disputes. QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an attorney with a focus on construction law.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in New York, New Jersey or Florida.

Estimated salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to $175,000.00.
The salary listed is an estimate and not guaranteed. The salary offered will vary based on experience, education, skills, abilities, and certifications/license.

SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of construction industry practices, contracts, and damages.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts, including design contracts, construction contracts, and subcontracts.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to project teams on construction-related issues, risk management, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure contract terms and conditions are met.
  • Assist in the resolution of construction disputes, including claims, change orders, and delays.
  • Assist with payment disputes and resolution.
  • Works closely with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Evaluate possible legal risks and liabilities within the company’s operations. Formulate strategies for efficiently mitigating and overseeing these potential risks.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assist in legal evaluation for operations relative to opening offices in new regional markets.
