In-House Legal Counsel

PURPOSE OF JOB: The In-House Legal Counsel is responsible for providing a range of duties in support of legal and documentation, compliance of business operations, collections legal case management, document preparation, and legal and documentation compliance reviews. A majority of the legal work will be undertaken for United Leasing, Inc., with projects related to affiliate business units as assigned by General Counsel.

EDUCATION:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Bar membership in good standing, and ability to be licensed in the State of Indiana within nine (9) months following the commencement of the position.
• 2+ years of legal experience, with experience in financing, civil collections, commercial transactions, real estate, and/or contract review.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Thorough knowledge of legal principles, practices, terminology, and research methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Proficiency in creating professional correspondence, including proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, and other English language skills.
• Clear, effective, and professional communications skills (written and oral).
• Demonstrate initiative and willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and address challenges.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
