    We are seeking an In-Process Analyst to join our Chemistry team based in our Dunsandel site. This is an opportunity to bring your previous laboratory experience and bring your dairy knowledge into a fast-paced environment across production. This position is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the sampling, registering and testing of liquid milk and UHT Milk produced by Synlait for product release.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Routine testing of in process liquid and powder samples for release of product
  • Accurate, and reliable, interpretation, and reporting, of results to internal and external customers using the Microsoft Suite and LIMS
  • Adherence to testing and quality standard operating procedures
  • Calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy of testing results
  • Sampling of raw materials and finished product

This role will suit a self-driven person, with the ability to work efficiently, using their own initiative, while simultaneously following procedures accurately, in a laboratory with constantly evolving goals. A proactive attitude towards health and safety especially around chemical handling is also highly regarded.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role will require

  • A Tertiary Qualification in Chemistry or food technology or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment under ISO 17025
  • Previous experience in the dairy industry.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and LIMS experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill

The hourly rate for this position is $30 - $34.00 per hour
