JOB DESCRIPTION
Hybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to be onsite at Warren, Michigan minimum three times per week.
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline or 3+ years of equivalent experience with GM vehicle electrical architectures and/or sub-systems
- 3+ years experience with design, build, validation and installation tool and equipment development cycle
- Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering Launch experience
- High level of project management experience
- 50% travel required for supporting plant issues, innovation development etc.
WHAT CAN GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS)
- Experience in manufacturing, manufacturing engineering or tooling development
- Vehicle assembly process experience
- Knowledge of vehicle serial communication protocols
- PC hardware and software knowledge including cyber security skills
- Microsoft Excel Macros and Pivot tables
- Familiar with MEVS Assembly Verification Group (AVG) test environments
- Knowledge of Plant Floor IT systems
- Red X, DFSS or OpEx training
Responsibilities:
ROLE
This is an In- Process Test Manufacturing Engineer position in the Assembly Verification, Integration, and Electrical Processing Group. In this role, you will work as a bridge between suppliers and assembly facilities to lead the development, installation, and ongoing support of Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment with a focus on In-Process Testers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Strengthen In-Process Test Systems validation strategy within the GVDP milestone phases
- Support innovation or new technology development with Advanced Technology (ATW) and New Technology related to electrical systems
- Support and mentor Execution Zone Engineers and Plant Electrical Coordinators for In-Process Test execution
- Perform in-plant and remote troubleshooting of equipment issues, as required.
- Provide ongoing and new program execution support at PPO and applicable Assembly Plants
- Closely coordinate with software team to prepare for new products and standards creation
- Update and maintain standardized work and training related to Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment
- Drive In-Process Test Strategy that increases. Electrical First Time Quality (eFTQ) at End of Line (EOL) Test Locations
- Work closely with Strategic Supplier to continuously improve equipment design development, build and validation requirements
- Implement continuous improvement ideas generated by plant teams where applicable
- Support the Electrical Processing Expert Team
- Support development SDV vehicle architecture
- Create and maintain Process Manufacturing Requirements
