We are looking for candidates that are passionate about improving inclusion and diversity at the House of Lords. Without our people, we cannot deliver the wide range of excellent services needed to support the UK’s parliamentary democracy; and we are committed to an inclusive, diverse, and professional workforce.
You’ll be joining our Inclusion and Diversity team as the Inclusion and Diversity Manager. The Inclusion and Diversity team lead projects and programmes, support our Workplace Equality Networks, and organise events. This opportunity is hybrid with a mixture of working from home and on the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Parliamentary Estate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience working in inclusion and diversity who would enjoy independently delivering strategic projects to support the Inclusion and Diversity Strategy. If you have a positive, proactive, and collaborative approach, we would love to hear from you.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Specialist knowledge and experience working in an inclusion and diversity function.
  • A proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in inclusion and diversity.
  • A proven ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders and colleagues from different backgrounds.
  • The ability to manage sensitive issues tactfully and with discretion, representing the team internally and externally with professionalism.
  • Demonstrable experience of communicating clearly orally and in writing, identifying key messages for different audiences and demonstrating strong influencing skills.
  • A high-level of initiative and adaptability, including the ability to offer resolutions and advise to inclusion and diversity-related issues.
  • A qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent expertise gained through relevant work experience.
The job description provides full details about the role and what we are looking for.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering an area of the House of Lords Inclusion and Diversity Strategy.
  • Building strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders to build engagement with the Inclusion and Diversity team’s work.
  • Providing specialist advise based on up-to-date knowledge of equality legislation, best practice, and our duties as an employer.
  • Supporting and co-ordinating the work of the Inclusion and Diversity Adviser.
  • Overseeing the strategic direction of the Workplace Equality Networks.
  • Representing the Inclusion and Diversity team, the House of Lords, and Parliament at events with internal and external organisations and on committees.
  • Providing regular updates and reports to the Head of Inclusion and Diversity, providing evidence-based narrative and impact analyses.
  • Undertaking continuing professional development to keep up to date with employment law and best practice developments.
If this sounds like something you would like to hear more about, please apply below.
