Description:

REQUIRED SKILLSET AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, with recruitment experience combined with leading inclusive hiring of people with disabilities in organizations.
  • Sound knowledge of issues impacting employment of people with disabilities and a variety of accommodation measures that produce positive employment outcomes
  • Fluent in French an asset
  • A natural ability to easily translate the value of inclusive employment to employers.
  • Comfort in delivering on a demand-based employment model where the employer is the client, while maintaining a trusting rapport with service partners and candidates
  • Strong relationship building skills with employers, service partners and candidates.
  • Effective communication and strong critical thinking skills
  • Collaborative working style
  • Motivated to make a positive difference for others whether this be to help make it easier for employers to hire diverse talent, connecting a qualified candidate with a disability to employment, or move the bar on inclusive employment in Canada.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Required to pass a criminal history background and/or fingerprinting.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Must have the ability to work on a computer for an extended period.
  • Must be open to occasional travel within the province you live in
  • Occasional travel within Canada may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engagement, recruitment, retention, and support services CAN WiN Employer Partners – focused on making it easier for employers to connect with diverse job seekers who meet the workforce needs of their organizations.
  • Facilitate specific activities, including training related to best practices related to employment of people with disabilities.
  • Respect the unique nature of each organization’s business style and environment.
  • As an extension of the Employer Partner’s Human Resources team, follow recruitment protocols in place within organizations engaged in the project.
  • Actively seek candidates for opportunities put forward by participating employers and act as a primary resource to employers by providing and sharing relevant expertise.
  • Interview and assess all candidates in advance of referral to employer.
  • Recommend job-ready candidates who demonstrate suitability in relation to the opportunity and employer, identifying accommodation needs in advance as required.
  • Work with the employer, local service partners and job seeker to facilitate recruitment.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and ways to remove barriers to hiring or retention.
  • Maintain open, honest communication with all parties while protecting confidentiality.
  • Participate in CAN WiN team meetings, career fairs, presentations, and other events.
  • Collect and update data management systems.
  • Collect, monitor and track progress of candidates pre/during/post hire to support project evaluation, and facilitate additional supports as required.
