This opportunity is best suited to a competent intermediate to advanced level creative-thinking industrial design specialist who can design solutions with genuine customer value in mind, while aligning with our brands positioning. Tasked with being the voice for our customer, you will be responsible for providing a continuous stream of innovative, useful, and beautiful products that support and enhance the competitiveness of our brand.
About the role

Reporting to the Head of Industrial Design, you will:

  • Be part of a team that is instrumental in the delivery of a customer insight led product development vision.
  • Have the opportunity to work on a range of current and future products.
  • Be responsible for achieving projects within a team of Industrial Designers, a key part of this achievement will involve collaborating across our team of product development engineers and being the voice of design and brand for our product design decisions.

This is where you come in…

You’ll have experience working within a Product Development environment.

  • Be able to demonstrate aesthetic maturity, are self-driven and able to work to tight schedules.
  • Have sound understanding of mechanics, kinematics, manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Be confident at communicating both visually and verbally.
  • Experience working collaboratively with other specialists to develop new designs, working with both new and existing manufacturing processes.
  • Some experience in model-making and prototyping, creating quick prototypes to prove concepts, as well as more refined visual models is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency using design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, parametric CAD modelling such as PTC Creo and rendering packages such as Key-shot (or similar).
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Industrial Design or Product Design is essential.
