We have an immediate opening for Industrial Electrician at our Windsor Extrusion Plant.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The industrial electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. The industrial electrician will also routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components in order to ensure the continued safe, efficient and effective operations of all equipment and fixtures utilized by the organization
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be fully certified – 442A is preferred but will accept 309A with strong industrial manufacturing exposure/experience
3 years of electrician experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Ability to install, maintain, test troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment
- Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and electrical code specifications
- Knowledge of PLC Programmable logic capabilities
- Skills in routine maintenance operations
- Computer literate
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Detail-orientated and analytical thinking
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiasm to apply continuous improvement techniques
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and specifications in order to provide troubleshooting and repair services when needed
Install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and equipment
- Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance through inspection of electrical systems, equipment and components
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
- Direct and train other workers and apprentices to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
- Work on other electrical projects as required
- Assists other maintenance technicians
- Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, provincial and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications
- Complete any other duties as assigned.
