Description:
KEY SKILLS INCLUDE:
Active team and project/program management, complex systems analysis and modeling capabilities, technical research, technical report writing and editing, training development and delivery, as well as capability and professional stature to perform technical consultations for client inquiries on a broad range of commercial and industrial technologies. As Director of the US Dept. of Energy Onsite Energy Technical Assistance Partnership, the candidate will be responsible for preparing successful proposals and reports for funders such as the U.S. Department of Energy, negotiating agreements and funding, and developing and tracking budgets of those programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline and three (3) years of related professional-level engineering experience.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant energy engineering discipline may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
- A Professional Engineer’s license may be required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registration as a professional engineer in the State of Washington.
- Experience in developing and implementing energy efficiency programs.
- Experience in the analysis of commercial and industrial facilities for their combined heat and power system potential.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated computer skills with energy system performance analysis software, databases, spreadsheets and word processing applications.
- Knowledge of potential funding sources, and experience developing proposals for funding.
- Experience working in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Energy Engineer / Program Director conceives, proposes, develops, budgets and manages delivery of commercial and industrial program and project technical products by small teams. These efforts typically involve elements of applied systems technical assessment, analysis and research, resulting in preliminary systems configuration designs as well as economic modeling of various aspects of a broad range of commercial and industrial distributed energy systems. Projects and programs focus on performance, energy efficiency, economics, decarbonization, and use of cost-effective renewable energy resources.
