The Boeing Global Services Global Engineering & Operations Team is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support Modification, Repair, and Overhaul work in Jacksonville, FL. This position is in a Manufacturing environment as part of the P-8A Industrial Engineering Team. In the role you will directly support operations and manufacturing by analyzing operational data, providing recommendations, and sequencing work.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry is required
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting a manufacturing operation
- Experience with process improvement and Lean Manufacturing
- Experience with data analysis
- Must be able to ascend and descend aircraft entry stairs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):
- 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to effectively communicate with engineering peers, management, and non-engineering support staff.
- Experience developing executable schedules and precedence networks to drive standard work
- Experience analyzing complex production systems and using data analysis and or lean manufacturing principles to identify and remove waste
TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Responsibilities:
- Applies industrial engineering techniques and concepts to improve schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.
- Manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and performs risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation). Provides support to project completion.
- Uses engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products.
- Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout).
