JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or closely related field
  • Must possess three years of experience as an Industrial Engineer or Industrial Engineer Manager
  • Experience must include personnel management, distribution operations, creating work instructions, auditing, quality management systems, PDCA, Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, analyze and direct engineering to meet company goals and objectives for development, design and improvement with a focus on continuous improvement of processes, systems, and performance maximization across the company
  • Conduct research using appropriate tools to evaluate potential projects, including developing objective or purpose of project, applications that can be used from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements
  • Plan and formulate projects based on results of research
  • Review and analyze proposals to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures
  • Approve and submit to management proposals considered feasible for consideration and allocation of funds
  • Oversee and monitor projects, processes and performance reports, and gather data for analysis; prepare reports to inform management of progress
  • Select appropriate design concepts and fundamental technology to be used for continuous improvement projects
  • Select, develop, train and supervise staff of up to five analysts; develop, train and coach all levels of employees in fundamentals of continuous improvement
  • Recommend budgets to management, including staff use, technology, facility and equipment requirements or improvements and manages to budget
  • Work with operations and management to review and identify areas for process improvements
  • Identify and analyze company processes; evaluate opportunities for process standardization of best practices cross the company
  • Ensure projects, processes, research and analyses are documented in an appropriate system
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen training events to develop more leaders, utilizing problem solving tools and methodology
  • Build relationships across the company to facilitate success of continuous improvement efforts, and with external vendors to identify emerging technology and warehouse automation projects
  • Review operations and plans to meet requirements for sales planning and to ascertain engineering requirements to develop new markets
  • Expand understanding of company operations
