An Industrial Engineer specialized in manufacturing plays a critical role in designing, optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and maximizing productivity within a manufacturing environment. This role involves analyzing operations, identifying areas for improvement, implementing process enhancements, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and resources. The Industrial Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including production managers, quality control personnel, and maintenance staff, to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in volume electronics manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Experience with time and motion studies, work measurement, and process optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge of production planning, material flow, and layout optimization.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and methodologies.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using statistical analysis tools and software.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Process Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of manufacturing processes, including workflow, layout, equipment, and labor utilization. Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Production Planning: Collaborate with production planners to develop efficient production schedules, considering factors such as capacity, demand, and resource availability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance manufacturing operations, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other improvement methodologies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
  • Workforce Optimization: Analyze labor requirements, work methods, and production standards to optimize workforce utilization. Design and implement efficient workstations, assembly lines, and production cells.
  • Material Flow and Layout: Design and optimize material flow systems, including material handling equipment, storage systems, and production layouts.
  • Quality Assurance: Identify opportunities for defect prevention, implement statistical process control methods, and facilitate root cause analysis to drive quality improvement.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis for manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction, material savings, and resource optimization.
  • Project Management: Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving manufacturing operations, such as equipment upgrades, process automation, or new product introductions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Generate reports and present key performance indicators (KPIs) to management, highlighting improvements and areas for further enhancement.
