JOB ADVERT SUMMARY
Rand Water is currently looking for an Industrial Inspector to conduct investigations and inspections of industrial effluents discharged into municipal sewerage
system
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education: A three Year National Diploma in Environmental Management, Water Careand/or Analytical Chemistry
- Minimum Experience: At least minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in industrial effluent monitoring andinspection
- Computer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- In possession of a valid driver’s licence and willing to drive long hours
KNOWLEDGE
- Sound knowledge ofindustrial effluent andsewage treatmentprocesses, waterchemistry, industrialprocesses and wasteminimization
- Environmental andpollution controllegislation and tradeeffluent by-laws
- Knowledge ofGovernmentlegislation, NationalWater Act 1998 andNEMA

Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will be responsible for the inspection and monitoring of industrial effluentdischarged into sewerage system
- Taking samples of such effluent for chemical analysis into laboratory and monitor high effluentindustries
- Assist the Bulk Sanitation Technologist to calculate assessed tariff charges for themunicipalities
- Plan, co-ordinates and liaises with industries, municipal departments, consultants andgovernment departments.
