Job Description:

Industrial/Production Intern will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Perform routine Industrial engineering related tasks revolving around Schneider Production Systems under the direct guidance of a Production Supervisor
  • Use computer assisted engineering software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Mechanical, etc. and other tools to perform engineering tasks
  • Collect data for evaluation using company software such as Quote-to-Cash software and MRP/ERP systems.
  • Prepare data for presentation and evaluation for Production staff and Management Team using Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
  • Assist with maintenance of project files and preparations of technical document
  • Provide support to Production Supervisor and Engineering staff as needed
  • Provide Production Operations support as needed
  • Provide other technical office support as required by Production Operations staff.
  • Work on new systems and tool implementation activities currently being rolled out across Schneider Electric
  • Prepare Product Installations Manuals and Specific Assembly Instructions.
  • Review and process shop drawings under the guidance of a Lead Engineer and/or Designer
  • Work with Production Supervisor to prepare the Operations VSM (Value Stream Mapping)
  • Attend and contribute to monthly Safety Meetings, demonstrating a strong understanding of the material discussed.
  • Assist in maintenance of all plant equipment and facilities so that the plant remains in good operating order, consistent with standards and government regulations

Qualifications:

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE?

  • Minimum completion of a 1st year of the university specializing in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Be enrolled in a full-time studies at the post-secondary institution.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication (both written and verbal), and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface at all levels of personnel and management.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively both with and without supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, AutoCAD and CREO 6
  • Ability to write technical documents (manuals, white papers, etc.) Self-motivated individual.
