Responsibilities:

  • Employee Investigation and prosecution
    o Investigate misconduct related matters within the company.
    o Act as initiator on behalf of management in senior disciplinary processes.
    o Act as facilitator on behalf of management in senior grievance meetings.
    o Act as facilitator on behalf of management in senior incapacity matters.
    o Act as facilitator on behalf of management in performance enhancement related matters.
    o Assist in mediation of dispute matters where needed.
    o Assist branch manager in disciplinary, grievance and incapacity processes, meetings and matters relating to branch employees on junior level.
    o Provide oversight on active internal audit or forensic investigations within the company.
    o Direct and guide internal audit or forensic on misconduct related investigations within the group.
    o Fair and consistent implementation of discipline within the company.
    o Scan the environment and identify necessary policy and practice developments.
    o Testify in CCMA, arbitration or relevant hearings/dispute resolution meetings as required by the Human Resource department.

o Report on al completed processes to the Executive Management team.

  • Management insights

o Facilitate the implementation of employee/ management meetings.
o Ensure Employee forums are actively done and reported on.
o Identify issues or shortcomings from employee forums and implement corrective steps.
o Consult and advise management and employees with regards to legislation, policies, procedures, and best practice in co-ordination with the Human Resources department.
o Attend and/or facilitate internal departmental meetings when required.
o Responsible for the implementation, and promotion of employee relation strategies.
o Actively participate in internal structures and provide advice to management on emerging issues and needed policy changes.
o Provide support to management and employees managing performance and assist in the analysis of plans to resolve any identified performance problems.
o Provide advice to area managers in respect of procedural and substantive fairness issues.

o Report on all aspects to the Executive Management team.

  • Branch Investigations

o Perform branch investigations as requested by the Executive management.
o Complete branch investigation checklists.
o Report on branch investigations to the relevant executive management member responsible for the discipline shortcomings are identified.
o Propose solutions for shortcomings identified.
o Perform a follow-up inspection and document the improvement or further interventions required.

o Ensure all interventions are implemented and completed.

  • Training

o Assist in new job profiles.
o Assist in determining the optimal employee structure, job profiles, and staff compliments.
o Oversee incubation training programs per job description.
o Ensure the incubation program is continuously improved to include all relevant training requirements of products, systems, processes, and compliance.
o Liaise with the finance department to obtain relevant training material on systems, processes, and compliance.
o Monthly reporting on completed training and budget utilisation to the Managing Director and Finance Director.
o Ensure cost-effective measures are implemented to complete training.
o Perform Branch inspections and gap analysis on training concerns in the branches.
o Develop and implement a branch-specific practical training schedule based on the gap analysis.
o Communicate the expected corrective measures with the branch manager and relevant employees.
o Complete the practical training and sign off on the corrective measures implemented.
o Perform a follow-up inspection and document the improvement or further interventions required.
o Ensure all interventions are implemented and completed.
o Budget for the training program per year.
o Report progress against budget.
o Determine the training program for the financial year and include all aspects of training including compliance, compulsory training, new employment training, refresher courses, succession planning training, executive training, bursaries, etc.
o Liaise with the Human Resources department and ensure all training is recorded on the LMS system.

o Report monthly on training.

  • Requirements:

o 5 years’ or more experience within Industrial Relations Management, investigations.
o Relevant Bcom degre
