Description:

EDUCATION:

A College Diploma in Computer Programming or related field. Equivalent education and experience include College courses in Computer Programming plus 1-year practical related experience in addition to the minimum years of work experience required or two years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University performing the same or similar tasks.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years direct working experience with Oracle based relational database in a business office/results-oriented service environment. Detailed knowledge and ability to use reporting tools and query applications is required. Experience and knowledge include:
Understanding of the impact on business processes, as well as skill with interpretation and communication of requirements
Testing methodologies, requirement and root cause analysis techniques, and relational database theory
Ability to analyze and evaluate data to make recommendations
Oral and written communication abilities to present ideas in a focused and structured way, enhancing communication where appropriate
An eye for detail, spelling, and accuracy in content verification is essential to gather and document the needs of the end user(s)
Organization and project management abilities to work effectively under pressure of high volume and to efficiently plan activities and balance competing demands.
Initiative and creativity to focus on, and strives for, continuous improvement to set high standards of performance
Ability to build and maintain relationships who are potentially helpful
Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team with a client-centric focus
Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, discretion and courtesy essential, even in times of challenging and conflicting demandsWorking knowledge of an Advancement Database System, and the data contained, is an asset.

SKILLS:

Demonstrated Computer Software required:- Intermediate Word processing (MS Word)- Intermediate Spreadsheets (MS Excel)- Intermediate Presentation software (MS PowerPoint)- Intermediate Databases (MS Access)Demonstrated Programming skills required:
Advanced knowledge and experience using SQL, TOAD
Advanced knowledge and experience in report writing
Basic understanding and experience using CRM
Basic understanding and experience using Javascript
Basic understanding and experience using XML, CSS, HTML
Basic understanding and experience using Actuate BIRT Report designer
Basic understanding and experience using Ellucian Advance

Responsibilities:
