Job Introduction
We are seeking a data protection practitioner to join the council’s Information Governance team. This role provides information governance assurance to the BCP Council, ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and best practices.
As a point of contact you will provide Data Protection advice to colleagues at all levels; providing advice on Freedom of Information requests, sharing and disclosure of personal information requests, data breach recording and when necessary liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
You will join a team of experienced data protection professionals and contribute to the management and development of the information assurance framework and support team members and colleagues.

We’re looking for a candidate with:

• Knowledge and experience of giving advice related to data protection legislation.
• A relevant qualification or certification in data protection legislation or information governance or working towards obtaining a qualification/certification.
• Ability to communicate at all levels, giving practical data protection advice and guidance.
