Description:
Vedder Price’s Chicago office is looking for an Information Governance System Analyst. The Information Governance System Analyst provides data analysis and technical support to Information Governance personnel, with an emphasis on collecting, exporting, analyzing and interpreting large data sets harvested from internal systems.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Library Science, Information Science or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- A minimum of three years of information governance experience is preferred
- Demonstrated experience with information management technology, including databases, litigation support tools, document management systems, email systems, image capture and data transfer platforms is required
- Prior law firm experience; CRM, IGP, CIPP or litigation support certification is preferred
- Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software:
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, PowerBI
- Familiarity with PowerShell and Python
Responsibilities:
- Assists with updating and maintaining documentation of department processes and procedures
- Assists with the creation and maintenance of departmental training materials
- Runs daily, weekly and monthly reports
- Ensure data harvesting programs run successfully to completion; review error logs; Q/C results
- Use SQL Server, Excel, PowerBI and other data analysis tools to perform calculations/aggregations against data and to identify patterns or opportunities for improvement
- Create data visualizations to communicate findings to non-technical audiences
- Collect, process, and cleanse data from multiple sources using various methods (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python)
- Assists with identification and handling of redundant/expired/unneeded data
- Assists with department projects and audits as needed
- Support ad-hoc data requests from business users
