Description:

At SIG, we view information security as pivotal to the success of our technology organization and our firm as a whole, and our Security team is crucial in protecting our information assets and technology. Our Security team focuses on making sound risk based decisions, and not check-box compliance. We are now looking for a Security Engineer to join this team.
The team partners with business and technical stakeholders across the full stack. You will work as a member of our global Security Team providing operational, engineering and consultation support across the areas of security monitoring, vulnerability management and perimeter/endpoint controls.
You will gain exposure to a large and complex network topology, learn how security technologies and practices can be applied to defend against today’s threats by administering, supporting, and implementing technologies that manage and control access, identify vulnerabilities and more.
The role will provide you with broad exposure to a myriad of information security technologies including Firewalls, Authentication Encryption Technologies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Antivirus and Remote Access.

Essential fundamentals you will gain by joining SIG Dublin’s Information Security Team:

  • You will get to work on a variety of security challenges and technologies across all aspects of our technology footprint. Even in projects where we are not directly involved in engineering solutions, the Security team are expected to ensure that our security and risk standards are adhered to.
  • Our Engineers are given the freedom, flexibility and resources to solve problems creatively and develop the most appropriate solution – this may range from buying/implementing vendor tools, rolling your sleeves up and developing custom solutions from the ground up, adapting open source solutions to meet SIG’s needs, or implementing process and policy controls when technology solutions are not available.
  • You don’t have to choose between researching, architecting and implementing solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on problems requiring big picture thinking, but will remain hands on with technology as you manage and execute large technical projects to drive growth with SIG’s security infrastructure.
  • You will be part of a truly global security program. The security team here in Dublin is one part of the firm’s Global security team, so you will have the opportunity to travel and work with your colleagues in other offices in order to build and maintain solid relationships.
  • Continuous growth and opportunity. At SIG, our technology teams are fast moving and ever evolving, meaning that new challenges are always around the corner. We have an open learning environment and our infrastructure, where teams and skillsets are always growing in order to keep pace with those challenges.
