Job Description and Duties
The position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the IT Specialist II will perform duties related to Software Engineering, System Engineering, Agile Software Development, and Client Services, including, but not limited to, Business Analysis, Technical Writing, Process Engineering, Data Administration, IT Solution Design and Development, IT Training, and IT Consulting. The incumbent will architect, design, develop, configure, and integrate interfacesfor technologies/platform such as SharePoint Online, Power Platform, SPFx, NodeJS, Typescript, JavaScrip,t CSS, HTML and to provide maintenance and operations support at OMV. Additionally, the incumbent will also provide technical training to junior staff.
This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.

Working Conditions
Primarily sedentary for extended periods of time. Operates a computer terminal, participates at meetings, conferences, and workshops. Ability to communicate effectively with internal/external customers over the telephone and via e-mail
Telework is available. Telework requires California residency.
This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818. Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee’s own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Proficient in SPFx custom solution, NodeJS, Types cript, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Experience in managing large-scale SharePoint Online migrations using Microsoft SharePoint migration tool and Sharegate migration tool for SharePoint Online.
  • Good knowledge of Project Online and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with creating, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documenting Power Bl reports.
  • Strong project management and team collaboration skills.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
