This position is located at the Sacramento DMV Headquarters.
Do you have a passion for digital services insight and trends? DMV’s Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking a motivated technology-forward thinking Information Technology (IT) Product Architect to be a part of a dynamic team that serves in the Back Office Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the quality, reliability, user experience, and access of DMV technology products. As a Product Architect you will be instrumental in interpreting technology and/or business problems, formulating and presenting solutions to stakeholders who will use it to make strategic business decisions.
The incumbent acts as the technical manager and/or lead and solution/application architect; responsible for architecture, design, application development, documentation, managing backlogs, and releases for IT projects and efforts impacting the Section; and possesses a wide and deep practical technical knowledge base, which includes emerging “cutting-edge” technologies. The incumbent is recognized as an industry expert in their area of specialization, exhibits a mastery level of team leadership qualities, and plays a major part in formulating technological strategy and policy. Additionally, the incumbent has extensive decision-making authority and directs the most critical and/or complex projects as well as performs Technology Project Management and Software Engineering domains and duties related to the managing infrastructure and software systems including user research, user-centric design, development, configuration, testing, and implementation.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Salesforce certified;
  • Experience in application development in Salesforce, Java, JavaScript, Oracle, SimpliGov, and cloud computing environments like AWS using Postgres, Node.js, React.js, Docker, Code Climate, Splunk and the like technologies;
  • Experience in using GitHub, Jenkins and Microfocus ALM/Octane; and
  • Experience in project management.

    Telework available. Telework requires California residency.
    DMV operates 24/7. The incumbent may be required to carry a work cell phone and laptop. There may also be times when the incumbent is required to attend an out of town conference, or work evenings and weekends to maintain project schedules.
    This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818.Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee’s own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.
