DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Relevant certifications (such as MCSE, CCNA, or ITIL) are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with MPLS, SD-WAN, Meraki, and other networking technologies
  • Experience with VOIP technologies

The skills:

  • Proven experience in a senior 3rd line analyst or similar infrastructure support role
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems (version 2016 and above), Microsoft Office 365/Exchange 2016, Hyper-V, and Active Directory management
  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles and the ability to promote awareness within the organisation
  • Experience supporting enterprise and operational technology networks
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
  • Project Management Skills
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence as regular UK travel will be required occasionall

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of escalation for BAU operations and project delivery, ensuring timely and effective resolution of complex technical issues
  • Provide support for Exchange, Office 365, Hyper-V, and other Microsoft server stack technologies
  • Attend Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, contributing expert advice on infrastructure changes and ensuring smooth implementation
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD), ensuring user accounts, security groups, and permissions are accurately configured
  • Monitor server health and hardware, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to ensure optimal performance and availability
  • Support MPLS, SD-WAN, Meraki, and other networking technologies, troubleshooting connectivity issues and optimizing network performance
  • Assist with the deployment of new services and solutions, whilst following an ITIL v4 framework
  • Collaborate with the IT Service Desk, providing guidance and support to resolve complex incidents and problems
  • Participate in projects related to service design, service transition, continual service improvement, and operational initiatives
  • Contribute to the operational maintenance of the Configuration Management System (CMS) and ensure accurate and up-to-date data
  • Investigate and diagnose complex issues at a 3rd line level, ensuring effective resolution and minimizing downtime
  • Participate in a planned on-call support rota and occasionally provide essential out-of-hours support as required
