About the Role
We are seeking a Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer, for a Full-Time, Permanent opportunity in Blackburn, VIC or THQ Redfern , NSW.
The Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer role at The Salvation Army is vital for supporting and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure. The IT Infrastructure Engineer will handle activities related to Azure, AWS, Hyper V, VMware, vSphere, Microsoft 2016/2019/2022 Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure AD, virtualization, Enterprise storage, cloud hosting (private and public), and cloud security.
This role collaborates with senior team members to design and implement infrastructure solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure infrastructure service performance. Documentation of configurations and procedures, Monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of the IT infrastructure will be key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:

You will be successful in this role if you can:

  • Provide technical support and assistance for enterprise systems and infrastructure architecture, following senior cloud engineers’ guidance.
  • Assist in designing and implementing infrastructure solutions aligned with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct analysis and troubleshooting to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of infrastructure systems, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and subject matter experts to integrate new solutions into the infrastructure design.
  • Contribute to the TSA Architecture Review Forum (ARF) and provide input on IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in developing backup and recovery strategies for infrastructure equipment to ensure data protection and availability.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance and capacity of DCs, IT infrastructure systems, applications, and cloud environments, reporting potential issues.
  • Support project activities, assisting with scoping, vendor management, and achieving project objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3+ years relevant industry experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or Business Information Systems is preferable
  • Certifications in relevant IT disciplines, AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate or other Azure certifications. Microsoft Certifications or Applied Skills, VMWare, ITIL V3/V4 Foundations

Tech Stack Required

  • Experience in Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 Win 10,11, 365 Cloud PC)
  • Experience in Microsoft Services (Active Directory, Azure AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, NPS, Group Policy, IIS)
  • Experience in VMWare vCenter, vSphere, VMWare vSAN, VMWare NSX-T, Dell EMC VxRail
  • Experience in Microsoft Endpoint Manager including System Centre Configuration Manager and Intune
  • Experience in Azure Virtual Desktop and proficient scripting skills (E.g., PowerShell or VBScript)
  • Experience in Azure Cloud platform services and developing and supporting Azure cloud-based applications
  • Knowledge of best practice development methods in accordance with a Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Requirements of the Role:

  • A national police record check is required.
  • Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date.
